Cars and Coffee / Blackhawk 7/5/15 Sunday 8-10am

Sunday 7/5, 8-10 am (and all 'first Sundays) - on the grounds surrounding Blackhawk Auto Museum
Blackhawk Plaza
Danville, California 94506

"On the First Sunday of every month, automotive enthusiasts gather in the parking lots of the Blackhawk Automotive Museum to share their vehicles and admire the other fabulous classics, exotics, rods and anything else with wheels and a motor. There is no fee for Cars & Coffee. Come when you want, leave when you want, but know that early arrivals do get the parking space they prefer. Also, the Museum opens at 9am on Cars & Coffee Sundays."

Cars & Coffee
.
this Sunday will be my first visit but I'm told 700 or more cars may show up!

Rick - I was there last month in my Pantera. I can attest - it was off the hook! All sorts of crazy amazing cars. But if you get there at 8, you may not get a place to park. Shoot for 7:30 at the latest...

Oh, and cops everywhere :-)

Monterey Car Week / Pacific Grove Concours-Rally

Monterey hosts 'car week' in August - too many events to list but a couple that I've attended in the past include the
"Pre Historic" Races - the 'warm up' weekend before the Historic Races - many of the cars that will be in the 'big' Historic Races held August 13-15 will be arriving early and participate in the 'PreHistorics' the weekend before - go to Laguna Seca on Saturday/Sunday August 8-9 and enjoy the cars racing on the track with very light crowds, little or no traffic, no parking problems and free access outside the 'fence' or a nominal fee of $20 or so to get into the garage area - very relaxed easy viewing of these great historic race cars.
.
and....The Pacific Grove Concours/Rally is on Friday August 14, and you can enter virtually any car you wish - the Concours is a 'light; event on Lighthouse Avenue from 1:00-5:00pm followed by a Rally around 17 mile drive and Pebble Beach and optional awards/dinner - it used to include downtown Carmel but the city imposed a very high fee this year so they've dropped that portion - still a very fun event and a rare opportunity to be "IN" one of the car week events. You can still register to participate at
Annual Pacific Grove Concours Auto Rally - download the entry form - fill it out and mail it in.
.
Werks Reunion - also Friday August 14 - starts at 7am - great Porsches available for viewing - no charge to view - get there early to find a parking place -
Werks Reunion - Second Annual Porsche Gathering in Carmel Valley, California - August 2015
Date: August 14, 2015
Time: 7:00am - 4:00pm
Where: Rancho Canada Golf Club
4860 Carmel Valley Road
Carmel, CA 93923
Breakfast and lunch available on site - more info....? - see:
https://web.pca.org/email_template/pca_werks_reunion_2015.html
.
Hotels are exhorbitant - many require multiple night stays and charge very high prices - try airbnb for options if you need to - if you're in the Bay area consider 'commuting' to various events -
.
other events......(dozens of them.....) see below for event listings....some costly....some entirely free:
Monterey Car Week, Monterey, California, your only source for complete events schedules and local information.

Monterey Car Week / Pre-Historic Races

The Historic Races at Laguna Seca are an important part of Car Week - and most of the cars, drivers, and owners arrive early - many to run the "Pre-Historic" races this past weekend - some photos (~170) from yesterday at the track and Paddock are posted at www.svautoevents.shutterfly.com
.
off tomorrow to Concours on the Avenue / Carmel, CA (edit / photos from today are up at the same site.....great day! 550, and 356 photos are from of those on the site)...and Friday/Saturday to
Werks Reunion (all Porsche show), and Pacific Grove Concours/Rally, then 'Concours d'Lemons on Saturday....(photos now online @ www.svautoevents.shutterfly.com )

List of local specialists ?

Hi, does anyone maintain a list of bay area (esp South bay) specialists - independent or otherwise? Looking for referrals for IMS refit, routine maintenance etc.

There's a few shops in the south bay if you do a search. None off the top of my head and i can't recommend as i don't have experience with any shops. I'd like to know the answer as well to the preferred "go to shop" for Porsche. I'm in the east bay btw.

Kahler's in Dublin

I've been using Kahler's in Dublin for my German cars (BMW, Merc, and now the Boxster). Hourly rate is kind of steep at $165, but they know what they're doing.

I just picked up a 986 in San Jose. I have been looking for someone in the area with durametric setup and a good alignment shop. Any recommendations?
