The 97 boxster has one set of cats... not two.

I have Deluboz' headers and muffler on my 97 and it's plenty loud. Sizeable resonance at 2-3k though... but I got used to it with the top up. Top down it's just glorious all the way through the powerband and quiet as a mouse on the freeway with the cruise control set. Deluboz's muffler is really light compared to stock and much cooler... my rear trunk is no longer a rolling pizza warming unit.

BTW, I'm learning that all twin chamber mufflers create the resonance issues I have now.

Interesting point. The 987 model OEM units use double can muffler's too, however, and they don't have resonance, and the Dansk sausage type muffler and B&B muffler, while single can, still also produce resonance. I'm thinking that maybe it's not to do with the number of chambers, but the design of the interior baffles, that determines the level of resonance.

Unfortunately I have the resonance as well, and really wish I didnt. Its liveable if you learn to simply avoid the 2200-2800 RPM area in my case, but I wish I didnt have to. I'm planning to do headers and secondary cat deletes down the road, and when I do so I am searching for an exhaust that does not resonate, whichever that may be.

I don't think it's available yet from Porsche as
a Tequipment item, but when it is, the factory
sport exhaust is just what most of you are looking
for. At least for the 987s.

No resonance points, deep and growly at low RPM,
Ferrari-esque at hight rpm.

Not too loud, at least if you keep the ol' right foot
off the floor.

Simply perfect.

And you can just forget the switching stuff. Full
time loud mode is just right.

As soon as he hears (and drives) it, Randall will
be able to attest to this.

Oh my.

I may have to go for a drive.

Let's see now...

73 degrees, sunny, low humidity, birds a'chirpin',
bugs not too bad (yet), leaves poppin' out (mostly
weeds in my yard, though).

Hmm. Sounds like great Boxstering weather to me!

Best,

- Mark
