I have done this, plus I placed tips on mine, the tips did not come out perfect but the sound is so good I will leave it just like it is.

Do you have a link to where you can purchase Kreissieg exhausts or get more info? My search didn't find too much. Did find this place

97 and 98 dont have 2 sets of cats, just one, so only 2 cats.
therefore no need for cat bypass for those models.
