There's just something about the Boxster that I'm drawn too. When we have our local get togethers, there are only a few Boxsters there. Everyone else is in a 911. Now the GT2 and GT3s are the exception, but the others are pretty much the same. Yes some have been heavily modded, but they are all the same car underneath. It's fun being different. Josh (JP-s-in st. louis) likes being the sleeper car that keeps up with the others. The SC in his car definately helps out. I'm trying to drag him down to the track in a few weeks to get some 1/4 mile runs in to compare a non-supercharged car to his supercharged one (both S models). I know his car will spank mine, but it can give me hope for the Boxster.

I, too, am planning a 3.6 or maybe even a 3.8 as soon as my 3.2 gets tired. I will certainly agree, however, that a 996 TT is a hell of a car for the money now. VERY temping but I do think the open roof bit of the Boxster is worth something.

Garage
You might have a look at Farbacher-Loles or Ruf. They could probbly give you some numbers (including dollar figures!) on those engines in a Boxster.
