ABS light help !!!

HI guys/girls!

I have stored my 1997 boxster ( non S) for 6 months now starting it up every 2 weeks or so. I do completely disconnect the battery. Now for some reason the abs light comes on when I start it up.

The brakes were replace like a year ago aprox.

What would cause this? Anyway of resetting the ECU or or function to make it go away.

Thanks for your help in advance !

You'll need either a Durametric or a PST2 to reset it. Either a dealer visit or a local Porsche owner with a Durametric is probably the only solution.

Check this forum for the Durametric/PST2 list. You might get lucky.

It's not wise to start the engine while in storage.... it can contaminate the oil and cause moisture to collect in the exhaust system reducing it's service life.

As to the ABS light, it might turn out after the vehicle is driven.... when wheel speeds exceed 3kph the ABS unit does it's calibration and that might extinguish the light.
