Paulv, thanks for posting the TSB, it's good to see what brands and weights Porsche recommends/approves.
Since Mobil 1 is readily available locally (walmart and probably all of the small auto parts stores), I'll be looking for some 0W40 or 5W40. I figure either will work, because it rarely gets below freezing here.
I believe I will also stick to a change interval of 7500-9000 miles, since I do make a lot of short trips including my daily commute. As I've always said, changing your oil more frequently CAN'T HURT.
Maybe sometime I will try Red Line, Royal Purple or Amsoil in my Boxster, and see if I can detect any tangible difference, but Mobil 1 served me well in my previous car, so it should be more that acceptible for my Boxster.
