Is there a difference between auto and manual M96 engines?

I am hunting for a used engine for my 2001 Boxster S 6 speed that died a few weeks ago. If I find a 3.2 M96 in a car with a automatic trans, does it matter? Can I install the engine into my car and just bolt up the 6 speed, and use my computer/harness, or is it more complicated than that?

No difference in the engines, incidentally the best 2001 Boxster S engine available is advertised in the For Sale column.

Only a slight difference. The vacuum tube to transmission 4way connector on auto trans 3 way on manual. The harness on the engine has a extra plug on Auto trans.
