95psi of oil pressure at idle!?
So I just installed a accusump and an oil pressure gauge. I started the car up and the gauge pegged at 80psi plus, I thought the gauge was wired incorrectly until I switched on the accusump valve and the accusump primed to 95psi. I’m obviously not driving the car. Any ideas? I don’t know what the pressure was before the accusump install but I have had trouble keeping cam plugs in. The car likes to push them out and spray an impressive amount of oil (quarts in seconds) so it may have an over pressure problem. I’ve since installed a modified cam locking tool to hold the plugs in. Any ideas?

Follow up question, does anyone know what pressure the relieve valve opens?

I'm not certain where they are set, they are regulated with a thermostatic spring. I have 2 oil gauges one for the sump and one on the passenger head port. I get 100 PSI cold on the sump and 80 PSI cold on the head. Warm I get 80 PSI and 70. The pressure relief should not pop those caps, unless you got carried away with sealant there is a relief port on the cap journal.

There is a 997 oil pump pressure regulator upgrade that can be done. IIRC it regulates oil pressure on start up. Just search on here and you should find it....I can pull out if you don’t
It maybe that your plunger is sticking if the pressure is over spec. I have yet to change mine so this is all parroted info. It may fix your issue though
