Durametric DME Data
I'm trying to wrap my head around the Ignitions data. I've been scouring the forums, but my thick head isn't getting the math.
Can someone explain to me in plain English how to interpret the data.
Ignitions (Range 1) 13221/2812.4
Ignitions (Range 2) 958/1936.6
Operating Hours Counter 2827.2

Range 1 = ignitions at the rev limiter, range 2 = above rev limiter.
3 ignitions per revolution, so you have 4,407 revolutions at the rev limiter (about 41 seconds with the last occurrence at 2812.4 operating hours).
106 revolutions above rev limiter (above red line), so about 1 second with the last occurrence being at 1936.6 operating hours.
The car has 2827.2 total hours of operation.

Thanks pw
I gather this is how Porsche sees if the car has been abused (according to some posts I have read).
So my engine had been red-lined a total of 41 seconds in it's lifetime, but could have been 82 times, for example at 1/2 second each time?

Yeah, there's no way to know how many times or for how long each.

Bumping off the rev limiter is not a very important or damaging situation. Over-revs, on the other hand, would be considered abuse. These data usually reflect downshifts executed at the wrong time.

Yes, one condition is engine driving wheels which can be speed limited and the other is wheels driving engine via the wrong gear during deceleration

Since your range 2 ignitions (mechanical overrevs caused by a downshift caused by when the car was going too fast for the new gear) are from nearly 1,000 hours ago, i think you are fine
