Seat removing

What is involved in removing your seats from ‘98 Boxster? Is driver side different from passenger?

same thing side to side. Its 4 bolts and an electrical connector. my bolts were male torx so you'd need a female torx socket, but other than that its a piece of cake.

Also, disconnect the battery before disconnecting the under seat connection, as you will throw an airbag light that can only be cleared with a Durametric or factory computer.

Unhooking the connector is a little tricky as well, as it has a locking device - but there is a fairly good YouTube video to show you how.

Additionally, once the seats are out remember the rails are spring loaded, so try to stay away from the fore/aft release lever. If you bump it, the rails will misalign. They can be realigned (with some force), so it’s not the end of the world.

The connector is a ********************.

Just an FYI, there are lots of aftermarket OBD2 readers that will clear airbag codes and abs, too. I've got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072FHD8LB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I own that Autel and it works great - cleared my airbag light when I swapped my steering wheel

I stand corrected. Glad there are other options for clearing the airbag light.

I didn't disconnect the battery when my seats were out. As long as you don't switch the ignition on whilst the seats are out you shouldn't get the airbag light on
