Fuel pressure testing

Having some ongoing bogging issues with my 2002 986 S and now suspect fuel pump or regulator. Having a Bentley manual, it says PWIS required for 2002-2004.

Anyone perform a pressure test w/o further issues?

I've looked at the generic testers at Napa & Autozone. Considering buying on from Actron.
