Fuel pressure testing
Having some ongoing bogging issues with my 2002 986 S and now suspect fuel pump or regulator. Having a Bentley manual, it says PWIS required for 2002-2004.
Anyone perform a pressure test w/o further issues? I've looked at the generic testers at Napa & Autozone. Considering buying on from Actron. |
bogging issue
Bought the tester from Summit. Works great. Shows 50lbs key on & 55-60 idle to about 3000 rpm. Which I believe translates to over 3 bar. Don't think this is the problem either with my bogging issue.

A quick and risky way to check without a Tester is to remove the Schrader valve from the Test Port and crank briefly.Put a rag over the open port. It should produce a fountain of fuel. Careful ! Don't loose the valve when trying to re-insert it.Use the correct valve tool .You'll be really unhappy if you cross thread it because you used needle nose pliers.

50 lbs pressure
No need to. Shows 50lbs + on tester. Considering raising car and testing again in gear. Which is when it happens most otherwise.
