98 Boxster Upgrades

Need some help here. My son has a 98 Boxster and wants better sound and newer headlights. Fabspeed is $$$$$ but looks like a good kit. There is also Fister. Any thoughts between the two. I know one is just a sound change. Also any suggestions on headlight upgrade. Ive polished the existing ones but they still look just ok.

Thanks and happy holidays!

Buy the bypass pipes and have your local muffler shop weld them on. Cost will be under $200, sound is nice with no drone.

New headlights with the clear turn signal area are $800 shipped from Latvia, or take the old ones to a pro for refinishing. You can occasionally find good used sets on eBay, but they usually cost as much or more than new.
Best look, economy and light output would be to find a set of "clears" and retrofit HID projectors into them, but it is a lot of work.

These are on sale right now for $735 shipped (new) and ship from the US:
Porsche Boxster Headlight Assembly w/Clear Turn Signal Lens Halogen Left + Right | eBay

And these are always $790 shipped (new) from Latvia:
Porsche Boxster 986 1999-2004 Headlights Front Lamps PAIR LH+RH OEM | eBay

I have personally received 6 sets from the seller in Latvia and they are always pristine, new in box OEM.

So you believe that Latvian eBay seller over the seasoned forum members?
Bruh. lol They're all the same shape.

They didn't change the headlights on 986 Boxsters.
You're safe with either of those links he gave you.

Like Ryan said, all 986 headlights (1997-2004) are interchangeable.
The only change was the color of the turn signal (orange to clear).

Mine is a 1999.

Hi Norm! How have you been?

Well, I did a set a couple months ago, but Fred has been AWOL for some time.

Hey Charles, I'm thinking of expanding my lighting project resume to my Ford Ranger - horrible halogens.

Didn't I read that Fred's been recuperating from a motorcycle accident? I think he's back into the saddle now but likely far behind on a lot of projects. I think the 996 crowd on Renntech has "discovered" his projectors and flooded him with orders.
