Tire recommendation

Looking for a good street tire recommendation. Thinking Max performance summer tires for 17" wheels. 205/50-17 and 255/40-17. Any recommendations?

What are your goals? Sporty driving? Autocross? Track days.

225/45/17 works well.in the front, more grip, less understeer, and I think.it looks better too, a little wider

Max performance summer, I like (and am running) Sumitomo HTR Z III in 225/45 and 255/40/17. Very budget friendly.

Money no object? Michelin PS2.

Pole Position S-04, heard lots of good things.

Lots of really good max summer tires, and going to 225/45/17 really opens a lot more choices.

If you are ever going to have to drive in cold bad weather. Michelin pilot AS/3 is very good.

+1. I use these year-round in Wyoming, except in deep snow or ice (when I don't drive the Boxster). Michelin Pilot Super Sport are wonderful for summer use.

+1 I run that size in multiple brands on the OEM 7" wheels, no problems.

Let's toss this in.....noise. I hate road noise...takes away from the growl of the engine. Does anyone have recommendations around quiet tires?

Tires are for sporty driving. Maybe an Autocross if I don't feel like putting on my RE-71r's. Never out in snow or really cold weather.

None of the ones I said, the Hankook R-S3 is pretty noisy compared to the Sumitomo HTR Z III, which is also noisier than my other vehicles... I had some Dunlop Z101 or 102 that were quieter but with way less ultimate grip.

I bet the Michelins have much less noise. Maybe that's partly why they are $$$$
