Hi,

i'm pretty shure the problem is not the engine mount or the mounting height. As far as i know the flywheels are balanced different, because internal masses are different and the 3.6 blocks of 996 engines differ from 3.2 986 blocks.

Another can cause of vibration/drone at this rpm range can be caused by the exhaust. But from what you've said i would say it's a balancing problem.

Regards
Markus

No issues with the soft top at all. My rear shelf didn't fit back in. I really didn't care though as I didnt use it anyway.

Greetings everyone...been a minute or so since I last weighed in. After about 3-4000 miles the vibration I alluded to seemed to go away. Don't know if it was my sensitive butt gyro, or if the FW and clutch made friends but it was gone. One thing that has not gone away is the soft throttle response. I did not own this car long enough with the 3.2 motor before I replaced it with the 3.6 due to the track event putting me in the situation in the first place. However, over time, I've just never been ecstatic about the throttle response. I recently pulled a P0660 code and despite no CEL, believe this might have been here for a while--no rough idles, surging, etc however. Just lazy until Variocam kicks in and even then not a huge sense of urgency. I did plugs, coils, cleaned MAF, replaced MAF, TB cleaned, checked for vacuum leaks and nothing of note. Any thoughts or ideas welcome. Thanks. Missed you all!
