Not horny

Hi All

I went to vent my frustration at someone who cut me up this morning only to find my horn doesn't work. When I push the horn I can hear the relay click so I guess it will be the horns themselves behind the front bumper. Before I buy them and dismantle the front of the car is there anything else I should check

Perhaps the "Mojo" relay is too old..?

Just did this job. Horns are super cheap. When you see the location of the horns you'll see why they go out. Drive through a puddle and they'll be fried. My old ones had a ton of water in them. The hardest part of the job is getting the bumper off...I'll say this, there are more screws than pelican says there are...so if it seems like it's still hung up, there are more screws to take off.

The while you're in there job is to clean out your radiators. You'll be amazed at the crap you find.

Before you begin tearing things apart, try this: with the car off and the key out, try the horn. If it works, you have a ground issue in the steering column. A forum search should yield the details. If the horns don't work, your initial diagnosis is likely correct.

What are the chances of both horns failing. I would suspect loose/broken wires or grounding. Most likely grounding since as things corrode the ground is typically compromised.

I find the horn is not distinctive or suited to Porsche, just plain boring really so perhaps you have a good excuse to upgrade.

Something more European sounding perhaps.

Anyone heard a good horn lately.

Old style higher pitched dual trumpets perhaps.

Personally for a noisy warning device I like the guns switch myself

I replaced my horns with Hella horns. They were larger so I took off the bumper cover and mounted them behind the aluminum front bumper. Plenty of room and a better location than stock position in my opinion.

There is a separate horn that operates this sound. Not in the same location.

Both my horns failed and replacing them restored normal horn operation. Just sayin'

Good to know....this means one can put in twin air horns and disrupt the ajar warning

Fitted a used pair of original horns this morning now working. Also cleaned my rads at same time
