I've run my car with all covers off (after a rebuild), just don't plan on talking to the person in the passenger seat and make sure you wear ear muffs if your going for a long drive.
Its very loud but you do get to hear your engine!
Oh yeah, don't reach for anything behind the seats, the rotating belts and pulleys are right there!
