Unhappy parking brake

hi! I just bought my first Porsche its a 1999 boxster with really low miles and its beautiful. but the other day I drove with my top down and I went to put it back up. but when I pulled the parking brake up the park light would not cut on so the top wouldn't come up. its happened to me a few times. does anyone know why the parking light wont come up when I pull up the parking brake.

Parking brake micro switch. If the car thinks the parking brake is not on, it won't light the dashboard and the top won't go up or down. I thought I had a link handy but I can't find it. Try a search on parking brake micro switch and there will be several threads.

Garage
OR bypass the microswitch by swapping out your top module with a "comfort top" module.
My microswitch was acting up, on and off.....now the top works perfectly.
Best thing I ever did.

Or do a search before you post a question that has been asked and answered dozens of times already. There are several detailed explanations of the problem and the fix already posted, you just need to look.
