charcoal canister

hi. thinking of getting a fg hood and losing some more weight. also kicking around the idea of going to a centre-fill tank. looks to be a viable diy but am wondering:

part of the process would be to delete the charcoal canister. without it i presume that the start-up purge process will no longer run - will the ecu throw a code without the canister in place? note that i am running a row tune, for what that's worth.

thanks for any help.

ps, edit to add that i've reviewed everything i can find on the fuel plumbing and related ecu wiring, as well as searched around the forums, but can't find anything definitive. most folks who delete the charcoal canister are building race cars and ignore the cel.
