One touch window weirdness

Hi All,

My 986 driver side window is experiencing intermittent one-touch express weirdness. When using the one touch express to raise the window everything starts out just fine with the window rising automatically. After it moves up about 4 inches it suddenly reverses and lowers completely. At that point the one touch feature is disabled and the switch must be pressed continuously until the window is fully up. It is almost like the window control thinks it has hit an obstruction and the safety circuit engages to reverse direction. The door opening drop function and the top opening drop function both work as designed on both windows and the one touch express works perfectly on the passenger window.

Do I have a regulator on the way out or is something else causing this behavior?

Thanks

Mike

Thanks for the link but the windows have been properly re-set to the end position with the procedure from the manual. As I stated in the post above, the one touch feature starts to work perfectly after a momentary press of the window switch but the window suddenly reverses direction after it raises about 4 inches and then travels to the fully open position.

Thanks for the input Tony. Just as a data point the behavior occurs top up or down. I'll give the top switch a test and report back.
