looking for xenon HID foglights to match OEM xenon hid headlights in 987

looking for xenon HID foglights to match the bright white OEM xenon hid headlights in 987, anyone know of a kit or ebay or something? Been searching everywhere, planet-9 had a few posts but they were all cayman and I think the cayman has different foglights than the 987

avoiding LED, went that route on 986 foglights and they were very dim

EDIT: there's a good chance i have my bulb terminology incorrect. Please forgive me, i hope it still makes sense what i'm looking for

Might want to try the HIDplanet.com forum instead. These guys specialize in car lighting and would be able to help you out finding what you are looking for.

Best of luck mate

Below is the response I got today from TRS. I placed the order this afternoon. I've completed two conversions on E46 headlights using FX-R projectors, and it was very difficult to get the alignment set perfectly.

These projectors thread right into the H7 socket, making it an install. I added the adhesive to reseal the lens, for an additional $10.

The Mini H1 projectors definitely are an easy install in the Boxster / 996. The stock H7 socket in the reflector is large enough for the projector to install through and then tighten down with the included hardware.

This is for a 987 boxster, correct? Not the first generation 1997-2004 986 boxster?

Thanks! i think this is what I was looking for

6,000k running off a 35watts ballast. Pure white and safe.

You can go up to 55watts if blinding others isn't an issue with you. Also, the 55 watts runs really hot so make sure you buy from a reputable manufacturer (carry a fire extinguisher also).

hope this helps a bit

You'll want 4300k if you still have the factory HID bulbs. 6000k looks bluish in comparison.

So I'm guessing the factory is yellowish.

Some says pure white is 4300k and others says 5k. Not 6k my bad

Mine is a 986. I ordered the kit with 5000K bulbs. Light output is slightly less than the 4300K factory temperature, but not really noticeable.

To clarify, the base of the projector is threaded. It goes through the hole in the lens assembly where the H7 bulb was mounted. From what I've read, minor work needs to be done with a Dremel so the projector will sit flat in the hole, then a nut is tightened on the threads to hold the projector in place. This is nothing compared to the work needed to mount FX or similar OEM projectors.

Think I changed the topic from fogs to headlights, inadvertently. Sorry!

I do not think the 987 foglights are H7. According to this article they're H8 35W
What kind of bulb is the small bulb in Boxster foglight assembly? -

I believe H7 are the headlights

here's a good article for a cayman
Exterior Light Makeover - Part 1 - Articles

apparently Hoen makes some bulbs that match called xenonmatch designed specifically to match factory HID low beams
Hoen

They're $30 a pair, not an unreasonable price for a decent pair of bulbs.

I ordered some, I'll get some photos up when they arrive
