Misfire and fault code

Hi

Had a misfire and engine warning light come on, bought a Porsche PIWIS cable to carry out some diagnostics and it came out with the codes below:

My guess, before I get underneath it, is to look at coils and plugs on cylinder 6. However if anybody has had a code like this and found something else that has caused it, I would be very interested get their opinion.

Thanks

I don't know if the older version of Durametric has Freeze Frame data access. If so, check that and post it here. Misfires are not necessarily caused by ignition issues -- can be mechanical or fuel delivery problems. Also, go to the actual values section on the Durametric and watch the misfire counts for that cylinder at idle and under higher rpms.

You certainly do need a new coil pack. You may still want to watch the misfires in the actual values to see if thee are other cylinders that are misfiring but not enough to reach the threshold to set a DTC.

I'd be careful about relying on that diagnostics system; the current version of the Durametric software is Version 6.3.1.7, and it has fixed a lot of the bugs found in the early system.

Could it be possible that all the coil packs could be shot (not pertaining to this thread but mine)? I too threw a P0300 (also 0107 and 0343) as one of my codes. Guess I'll add that to the list of items to look at in chasing my starting/running issues!

Fitted the new coil pack and all is well.....You do get a bit paranoid when the dreaded engine light blinks at you after reading some of the posts on this site!
Saying that, the advice you get on here is excellent.
Thanks all.
