I'd prefer not trying to explain how to string a car here online (it's straight forward) I just dont have time today to write it up.

To set toe like this, you only need four jack stands, tape measure (I use steel rules) and string (I use fishing line/on reels)

I remember seeing an article about it years ago but I didn't read it! I don't mind paying for one FINAL align but I have to be at peace with the final solution., first.

Mine is a road car only. I am no racing driver but would say I am fairly competent. I would describe the handling as neutral to rear led. I'm not worried about the front end washing out unless I go too fast into a hairpin type corner, how many of those do you see every day? The rear keeps it interesting though and at first it took a short while to adjust to the need to keep your foot in as it all books up so much better when on the throttle.

I have no idea what roads are like where you are but I do most of my driving on what are known as B roads which are typically narrow, twisty and a bit bumpy. The steering reacts even quicker than it used to and doesn't track the road cambers too much.

Toe plates: The only issue with making some or using these? No way to get the thrust angle correct (think dog tracking)

I promise this video will teach you everything you need to know about performing your own alignment. Instead of using the smart strings, you can use jack stands to "make the box" around the car.

ah thanks for that Brad! I'll check it out. I think I'm going to pull the eccentrics out and inspect them- the camber ones wouldn't spin all the way around in both directions on either side but they'd max out IN or OUT so I didn't worry about it.

UPDATE; The eccentrics seem fine so I bought and installed Speedpro's adjustable toe rod bars. Car then was aligned without any probs and all is good to go. The rear suspension on these cars have a narrow range of adjustment. 5/8" beyond standard (Porsche offered) and you're in a heap of trouble! They are engineered to the nth degree!
