Carefully drive along side a semi that 's pulling a trailer that you can see a reflection of your vehicle in.

Fantastic! I always wondered the best/safest way of doing this. LOL (not everyone has "Danger" in their names)

I just recently drove from NC to FL and back, and when the sun was not overhead I could see my shadow and for the first time I could see if the spoiler was up or down. It was up most of the way

Well, I actually don't know if my spoiler goes up either. Time to put the camera facing rear.
(What I'd like is to remove the oem retractable spoiler and put an aftermarket spoiler - some low profile that does not destroy the design intent of the car)

LLLOOOOLLL!!!
The resourcefulness here is amazing. Problem completely solved.
Step 1 - Use the last suggestion to make sure it goes up
Step 2 - Drive alongside a semi and look for the reflection

Wish I hadn't read this at work. People are staring wondering what the heck I think is so funny. Good thing I didn't have a mouthful of coffee...
