performance clutch

I am going to replace the clutch this spring and I am considering upgrading to a Spec clutch. Anyone have experience with them? I am looking at a stage one.

Why? Unless your clutch is unable to handle the torque your engine is putting to your tires you will be wasting money needlessly.

I am thinking it may also provide a longer life span? I do autocross and some track days. I must admit I really torture the clutch in autocross. It is only a $200 difference.

I run the Sachs sport cluch that is used in most of the Boxster Spec cars. It has about 35 track days and 30,000 uneventful miles on it. Its very easy to live with in day to day driving.

I've got the Spec Stage 3 Plus with a light weight flywheel. It's been in for two years, 20,000 miles, and two 20+event AX seasons. Still going strong!

Spec stage 2 pressure plate and clutch Luk DMFW 2 year about 36 track days and 26000 miles, no issue. Mine used to smell after every AX run doesn't even seem to be effected now. well worth the $200 peace of mind.

The Sachs sport clutch kit consists of upgraded friction material ( organic) on the pressure plate, higher spring clamping force on the cover plate and hand built design , plus an uprated release bearing.
