If I get the gasket on the correct way, does it stay on correctly without falling off during installation?

Yes. The rubber gasket's forward-most edge sort of clamps onto the inner plastic ledge of the cowl, as I recall, where it will stay while you install the cowl.

I got the gasket on this evening. The middle part was easy, but for some reason, both ends were kind of strange. Porsche could have done a better job with that.

It seems to stay on okay except for the ends, so I put small pieces of tape underneath at both ends to hold the gasket in place until I have time to pull the old one off and replace with the brand new cowl panel cover, and the new gasket.
