Hi, I have a 1999 boxster, couple weeks ago my e brake light does not come on when I pull it up so I can't open my soft top at all, any of you guys know what is the problem and how to fix the sensor for the e brake? Thanks
Pull the brake handle up and down a few times (be rough with it) and it may even start working again. The little microswitch is like $5 but you have to pull the center console out to replace it (its easy though so no worries)

The other thing you can do is pop the tray out of the center console (2 torx screws) and look inside there. You will be able to get at the switch and jiggle it to see if the brake light will come on. Failing that you can pull out the connector and short it as a way to get the top working until you have time to replace the switch.
