The easiest way to tell is look up the part numbers and see if they match.

yes. but get a matching set. the trim color is different - it's clear for the boxster and silver for the 911. i have 1 that i used as a replacement for a yellowed light.

Or, if you're close to where those headlights are, give 'em a test fit and see how they mate up.

Are you sure that's the case?
Look the same to me...

quite.
from the 911:
from the boxster:
on the 911, the part that's not clear for the light to shine through has a silver backing. on the boxster, the entire lens is clear. (look at the "ribbed" portion)...

suppose it doesn't matter, since the OP is talking about getting a set, not 1 replacement. so do they fit? yes.

No, sure. I see that the lights you have here are different. But are all 996 lights like that?

ok so a little more looking around appears that mine might be from a '97, not a '99, since those can be "deambered" - don't know why i haven't thought of that until now...
Headlight Assembly With Integrated Turn Signal, Right
Brand: Genuine PORSCHE
Applications: 996 Carrera (through 7/98), Each
the '99's the OP is looking at should appear like this

Tonycarreon,
Maybe you should sell your passenger side light for cheap (to me, of course) and buy the silver one to match your new driver's side?
