Headlights

Will a set of 99 911 headlights fit a 2001 Boxster, Let me know if you have any information. Thanks

The easiest way to tell is look up the part numbers and see if they match.

yes. but get a matching set. the trim color is different - it's clear for the boxster and silver for the 911. i have 1 that i used as a replacement for a yellowed light.

Or, if you're close to where those headlights are, give 'em a test fit and see how they mate up.

Are you sure that's the case?

from the boxster:

on the 911, the part that's not clear for the light to shine through has a silver backing. on the boxster, the entire lens is clear. (look at the "ribbed" portion)...

suppose it doesn't matter, since the OP is talking about getting a set, not 1 replacement. so do they fit? yes.

pothole 07-08-2012 12:00 PM

No, sure. I see that the lights you have here are different. But are all 996 lights like that?

tonycarreon 07-08-2012 12:59 PM

ok so a little more looking around appears that mine might be from a '97, not a '99, since those can be "deambered" - don't know why i haven't thought of that until now...

Headlight Assembly With Integrated Turn Signal, Right

the '99's the OP is looking at should appear like this

only 2003-2004 can be deambered and that picture you posted above is from a 03-04

Tonycarreon,

Maybe you should sell your passenger side light for cheap (to me, of course) and buy the silver one to match your new driver's side? :)

if you're talking about boxster, but the 996 headlights were a few years ahead....
