Roll bar overlays

I really want to change my roll bar to white, but I'm really having a hard time swallowing the cost of these overlays. $180 for a piece of plastic I still have to paint and is just taped onto my car seems a bit much, Im I just not calibrated? Maybe I need to get over it and just spend the money. Has anyone else found an alternative?
