Spoiler Question

Hi Guys

As previously stated, just bought my first Porsche, have a question about a spoiler, does it have one???? its a 99 2.5 Boxster, it appears to have one, and what looks like a light on the dash for the spoiler, but this turns off, does it come up at a certain speed or is there a button to put it up???

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

M

Yes, you have a spoiler. It is just aft of the trunk lid, or the boot, as I believe it is called on your side of the pond. The red arrow in the picture shows where it is. It comes up automatically at about 75 mph and then will retract around 55 mph. There is a switch on the lower left corner of the fuse panel that will raise and lower it manually. The light on dash comes on at first startup as a check. It will go off as soon as the car starts to move.

The spoiler will raise automatically at 75 mph (according to the manual).

Spoiler safely,

ahhhh.......the button seemed to have dissappeared into fuse box but can still press gently to go up and down, unsure wether its going up at 75 as it was very stiff and dry when going up/down

But it works anyway

Cheers guys

If you ever see that light on while in motion or not turning off after you've driven faster than 3mph, it means you've got a problem and the spoiler's not operating correctly. Otherwise, Spinnaker's explanation has you covered.

And if you have an owner's manual, I suggest giving that a read. This, along with many other helpful bits of info, is in there.
