3000 rpm vibration and motor mount
I'm at 58,000 miles.
Before I put the car to bed for the winter, I noticed substantial movement from the exhaust. So my motor mount is due.
I've had the infamous 3000 rpm vibe off and on.
Have those of you that have changed out your mount seen the vibration go away?

I sure did and the car shifts much nicer now too. I think there's an inherent vibration or resonance at that rpm and the bad motor mount really allows it to be felt. I think it's always there but with a good mount you don't really feel it.

BerneseMtnDog is spot on. A month ago I replaced a Wevo semi-solid with a new 987 mount. Vibration with the stock mount is *almost* unapparent. To ask if it is complete gone depends on the sensitivity of your posterior. I noticed it very slightly only a few times but coming from a semi-solid the stock mount feels downright plush.

It will fix your 3000 rpm shimmy and make shifting and clutchwork from a stop much, much better. I used the stock 987 mount which is more than adequate.

I'd try Suncoast in Florida too. However, you, like me, have the problem of trying to get parts north of the 49th without taking it up the wazoo on duty, shipping etc.
I have yet to call the local stealership here on the Island to see how badly they want to work me over. I'm sure it'll be enough to piss me off and still more than the total cost from the sun belt. Let us know where you get it from.

I did my motor mount mid summer. I had the vibration at 3000k for two summers and decided I HAD to do it! It was very easy with the right instructions and taking great care. I used 6 jack stands... under the engine too. DO NOT depend on a floor jack to hold the engine in place for any amount of time!!!
The new OEM mount fixed the problem! Not 100%, but almost! Night and day difference! The old mount was completely cracked inside.

Wow, now that's really doing some revving. I had no idea the Pcar could do that!

I had Pedro's Enthusiast mount put in bythe man himself yesterday. It resolved my vibrations (for the most part) and made shifting much cleaner and easier.
Just my 2c.

My .02 I replaced my mount 15k ago with the 987 and am in need of another mount. I'm going with Pedro's race mount and try that. I do drive hard, lots of DE's so in my opinion the stock 987 doesn't cut it for me.
