19-21 lbs? I guess the days of 11 lb Miata wheels is over. I know, apples vs oranges.

5-spoke is only available in 18" & as far as I know is the lightest 18" boxster wheel

I would have to see it to believe it, that any oem cast wheel weights in the 19-22 lbs. range. I understand that the Carrera "lights" are pretty svelte. However, those are specs more akin to the lightest one piece forged aftermarket designs.

I found this. Maybe there are some wheels that meet those specs after all. I know that when you start to get into some of the 18 and 19 inch oem wheels (particularly the 2 piece deigns), weights increase significantly.

I own four of the 18" OEM five spokes in offsets to fit a Boxster; they are that light....fronts 20.5 Lbs, rears 22.7 Lbs. according to the documentation.

There's wide margin on quality casting and forging between different manufacturers. Forging may not necessary be lighter than quality casting, there are a few lightweight cast wheels out there.

That's also why they cost $600 each discounted.

OZ Superlegerra - cast - 18x8" - 18lbs!!!

A lot of manufactures like Oz have been successful at making some high quality, light weight wheels by using a "flowing forming" casting technique .
