Don't feel bad - I thought the same thing when I first got my car, and it was my mechanic that set me straight about how it works when I asked him to fix it.

European regulation require one, or two rear facing foglamps. If one is used it is placed on the driver's side of that country. Some manufacturers oppose the use of two rear foglamps because they would mimic braking lights too closely. I'm sure cost had something to do with the decision to go with one lamp also.

Because it doesn't appear you're driving with your brakes on. *facepalm*

but what is the question.....if the folks across the pond want to drive in fog/rain that bad go ahead [pun intended] if its not too bad i will put on 4 way flashers and slow down...if its too bad just pull over and wait. these cars have left/right "parking lights" worthless in the states...i think they give a drunk something to aim for.....sorry for the rant....but i feel better now
