test light /DVOM

embryoguy@mac.com 10-29-2010 01:34 PM

sorry for my ignorance but whats a DVOM?

What's a rear flood light? If you're talking about the fog light then there's only one on the driver's side.

The passenger side socket is not functional in a LHD car, and vice versa in a RHD car, so it won't light even if you put a bulb in the socket.

I was changing light bulbs in one of a flood of light can, and he continued to ring around the head to get a better grip on the bulb and as I heard I was pulling a small window, all the lights went out and assumed that was the breaker. I checked it and none of them worked. All the plug ins work well not only the light above his head. What happened and how to fix it? Thanks

Don't feel bad - I thought the same thing when I first got my car, and it was my mechanic that set me straight about how it works when I asked him to fix it.

i wonder what was the thinking behind having only one fog light ?

JTP 10-30-2010 02:13 PM

European regulation require one, or two rear facing foglamps. If one is used it is placed on the driver's side of that country. Some manufacturers oppose the use of two rear foglamps because they would mimic braking lights too closely. I'm sure cost had something to do with the decision to go with one lamp also.

Because it doesn't appear you're driving with your brakes on. *facepalm*

They also have much harder requirements that drivers have to pass in order to get their Driver's Licenses, so, maybe they're on to something?

Imagine another country having laws set up that is different than the way its done in the US, and it actually working to help traffic flow, or improve safety, or reduce accidents...

And you think that's worthless?

BC.
