Wheel Geometry Boxster 2001 2.7

Just acquired a nine year old Boxster 2.7.
I noticed that there was quite a bit of uneven wear on both front tyres, so I took it to one of Aberdeen (in Scotland UK) German car specialists (Bavaria Autowerke) to have the wheel geometry checked.........
Unbelievably, they said they could not do this, and referred me to Aberdeen Porsche, claiming that their standard wheel alignment equipment was not suitable for my car.
I mentioned this to my local village garage, and they agreed to do it for me, and said they saw no reason why it should not be a straight forward job with standard laser equipment.

I would have thought that a Porsche Boxster would have similar Wheel alignment adjustment to most other modern cars?
Are there any issues that I should be aware of regarding wheel alignment?

Cheers guys
RD
