It may be a little stiff, sometimes pushing the connector together(like you are attaching the sensor) will help take some tension off it and allow you to push the tab down fully. If its cocked half-way, its difficult to remove it. Its better to push it back together and start over.

I used, on the precat O2's, a tiny flathead screwdriver. Made it a cinch.
