Absolutely nothing that you'd need for an LS1 could be salvaged from your motor. We're talking flat 6 vs. V8 here.

That said, it is hypothetically possible (as Brad is working on) to stuff an LS1 into a Boxster. If you're going to go this route, I'd go as big as possible, which means 7.0 LS7, since they all have the same exterior dimensions (same reasoning why if you're talking M96/97 engines you may as well go all the way to 3.8 as its no bigger outside than 2 .5).
