how to remove trim that flips over door pocket

does anyone know how to remove the trim that flips over the door pocket?

The armrest is held in place with two pins through the plastic hinge.
Push the pins out with a big paper clip or similar.
Be mindful of the small spring on the front hinge.

On my 2001 "S" The small spring is located off the back of the back hinge but it may be different for different years?

yes mine is also. but it looks like i just have to push out the two metal rods out. they are really tight so it ll take more effort than i anticipated it.

i wanted to take it off to paint it with a brushed-aluminum look.
