Unhappy Plastic Top Ball Joints

I have broken a couple of the white plastic ball joints for the top mechanism. I believe that I have read somewhere that someone is making them out of aluminum. Can anyone advise if they are aware of this and the location to get them. Thank you, Jerry

There are several sources for the alloy ball joint top tension cables, but I would advise against them.

Porsche specifically used nylon ball joints to act as a Fail-Safe so that the cables would snap rather than having the top bows bend or the top transmission strip because the excess force was passed on to these.

While the nylon joints may fail due to age, I would first be certain that the top operates smoothly and is aligned properly so you know the joints didn't snap due to a real problem.

Replacing them with alloy joints may be expedient, but it could also lead to greater issue$ in the future.

Cheers!
