Looks like Brad shut down that forum to pursue other interests.

I really do want to know who could do an LS1 conversion on my car though. When the motor blows I will surely do this instead of spending far more on a Porsche motor that will give me far less HP.

My 97's not worth much anyway, so why not shoehorn a GM motor in it? I'd have a wicked fast boxster that would be amazing on the street and the track.

Just because the part numbers vary does not mean that they are not essentially the same block. There are very few differences between the 2JZGTE and the 2JZGE engines for toyota, but they are definatley different part numbers and different outputs, just for example. If the LS7 was so different, it wouldn't be an LS. As far as LS1 to LS6 the main difference from what I understand is the oil system as far as the galleys are concerned for 2 of the cylinders. The LS2 is a 6L instead of a 5.7L and the LS3 is a 6.2 or 6.3 if I remember correctly. The LS9 is basically a supercharged LS3 and the LS7 is the new 427 505hp that comes in the new Z06.

I agree with everything you just said, when this engine goes, I will be sourcing someone who can do this...

Speaking of which...when I lived in Manhattan, KS, I would have spelled it "glutton". You must be hangin' out in Junction City too much.

I am sure a V8 Boxster will happen soon. The devil is in the details and there are a LOT of details. All that is required is someone with $$$ and patience... A LOT of patience because the first prototype will require 1000 shop hours?? to sort out. Will it be a fully functional, street legal car with AC, PS, Cruise, etc.? Not likely. The first ones are sure to become stripped and caged dedicated track weapons with no accessories. Over time (2-3 years of development) a fully street legal car is possible.

Way to get twisted around one detail that has nothing to do with the post or conversation. FYI, I don't go HANGING out in Junction City either. Why are you so aggressive with your ignorance?

Kidding, I was KIDDING! Neither aggression nor ignorance was involved, I swear. Geez, can't anyone take a joke anymore? (I see your spelling has improved.)

In that case I apologize, but I'm having some cam shaft issues so I may have read more into it than there was. This car is kicking my ass! I've never had anywhere near this many issues in such a short time period with an aircraft.

Hey, no sweat. I just noticed your "Location" was Milford. When I was first at Ft. Riley I lived in Milford for about a year. Small world, eh?

It is still moving forward Promise

The key is: we will not be Microsoft and release something that is buggy and needs patches updates every two weeks.

I sold those sites to focus on product development and racing.

For 26 years I have given away 99% of my Porsche knowledge and watched others capitalize on it with different parts/pieces. Not this time.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not rich. Funding these projects costs a lot of money and lot of time.

FYI:

The LS series engines fully dressed with oil in them weigh 40-50lbs LESS than the Boxster engine and carry most of the weight i the crank and rods (same place a 986 engine carries it)

The handling arguments are hilarious.. Install a V8 into a 930 turbo and watch the car sit 3/4 of an inch higher when you set it down. It didn't effect the handling of that car, and it will not adversely effect the handling of the Boxster.
