throttle body bore

I was reading an article where they said you could bore out the throttle body on the 986 by as much as 1cm, and that it will give you noticable differences.
any suggestions please?
I already have the cold air intake from evoms.

A larger Cayman S or Cayenne or 987 would be a large bore…and maybe less expensive too, if you find a good deal on a used one. On the other hand…IF you KNOW someone at a machine shop...

No.
You will need a larger (from 997 / cayman S) planum, and silicon reducers.
3.25" to 3".
All you need to know, inclueding parts list, in this thread:

TRK is much more knowledgeable then me, and most of the things i know about it, is from the tread he posted.
http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/31693-maf-throttle-body-diameter.html

this is the list of parts you will need:

one $42.43 997 110 416 03 997 plenum
two $ 3.05 999 512 539 01 hose clamp (for the larger plenum)

four $ 0.27 900 385 025 04 bolt (larger throttle body requires shorter bolts)
four $ 0.15 N 011 524 27 washer (for above)
one $ 5.49 997 110 319 00 throttle body gasket

as far as i understand, 996,997,and Cayman S, all have the same TB.
silicon reducers i got from here:
Intake Pipe Reducer

i also took TRK advice and ordered this:
Silicone Joiner 90 Degree Bend Reducer Elbow Hose 76mm 83mm 3" 3 25" 3 1 4" | eBay

i didn't installed it yet (all of it), since i'm still on the fence.
i think about getting the plenum and the ECU flash from Pedro.
need to decide what headers i'm going to put, first.

thanks for the info Meir. the only problem I have is that I would like to keep my plenum, because it's from pedro, and I just installed it, so I dont want to have spent the money on it for nothing! Do you know if there's a way that I can use my existing plenum along with a larger Throttle body please?
