Many people are probably driving around with a broken mount and don't even realize it. It "feels" more solid and stable when replaced. Hard to explain.

Mine looked like this:



The engine and trans are not supported on the sides very well, so this front mount takes a lot of twisting abuse.

I think that no matter which route one takes, replacing it is a real good idea (especially if the car is driven hard).
