98 Boxster. Wont crank, wont start
It's me again. My 98 Boxster will not turn over. When I turn the key, the accessories all come on. But the engine will not turn over. I have replaced the ignition switch, checked the relays, and replaced the battery.
The engine is not seized, as I heard it turning when I attempted to push-start.
Need help!
thxx,
sam

Push the clutch pedal harder? Do you have a floor mat under it?

clutch switch
I checked the clutch switch, it's definately popping out as it should when i push the pedal down.
Can I access the starter from under the car to test that out?

Check the clutch switch with a volt ohm meter.

The starter and solenoid are on top of the motor.

HI Paul,
I tried to send you a private message, but the system told me your box was full.

This type of starting issue can also be caused by using a key whose transponder code does match the immobilizer.

key/transponder
I thought about that key-transponder issue, but it's the same key I've been using for ten years. Is it possible that when my battery went totally dead i created a code or immobilizer issue?
i should mention that when my battery was totally dead, i had to put juice in through the cigarette lighter to get the hood unlocked.
