weird headlight problem

Hey guys I need an electrical guru.

My car, a 2000 box has aftermarket "xenon" bulbs in the headlights. These were just cheap bulbs and worked great for what they cost. I've had this set in for close to a year now, until one of them (pass. fog light) went out. I thought this was no big deal because I already had a spare set. I did the swap, and when I turned it on it was a dark brown looking light. I tried several new bulbs and all were the same. i even put the ORIGINAL factory bulb in and it looked the same. Also, when I turn on the high beams, the good headlight dims the foglight and brightens the main light. that works on that side but not on the side that I just replaced the bulb, the foglight stays kindof "half lit" the whole time, while the main brightens. Any ideas?

Im at a loss to what it is and any ideas are appreciated!

My drivers side headlight started acting up on me. When I turned the fog lights on the blinker would not work and the headlight would sometimes dim and blink with the blinker. I removed the headlight and cleaned the electrical conectors where the headlight slides in and make contact with the car. This fixed the problem. Most likely you have some corrosion that is causing some resistance between conections. Possibly a bad ground...try cleaning the contacts.

Thanks, I went to clean them and when I pulled out the light i realized that the connector in the car was loose from the holder. I fixed it and it works great, thanks for the idea.
