Generally speaking the airbag light on 986's comes on due to old tin connectors in the seatbelt harness. The dealer will charge a fortune to replace these. My dealer quoted me $750.00. I learned from a thread on this site that spraying electrical contact cleaner in the buckles and then drying with compressed air may solve your problem. It did for me. You still will have to get the light reset however. Good luck.
