ehd, check out this link...
If you have the CDR 220, this is a great piece...
although mine looks different than the one in the pix... I dont have the
RCA plug inputs or the mini jack... it is a simple IPOD dock hookup and
then wire harness to the back of the radio with ground and power wires on
it.

Question iPod controls

I just got a 2001 911 a few weeks ago and I have a few questions about this setup. I assume that the CDR-220 radio is the same between the Boxter and the 911 and that this will work for me. Assuming it will, where does the iPod control happen? Is it though the radio or through the iPod? If its through the radio, what are the limitations? For instance, I have heard with other vehicles that when you hook the iPod up through an adapter like this you only get limited 'play list' capabilities.

You have to control the iPod functions from the iPod itself. The volume is done from the radio, however.

Here is a picture of my set-up, which has changed since.
