Split the Case 1974 911S 2.7L Engine

Working on a project with a friend tearing down a 1974 911S 2.7 engine. Its been a real learning experience working on an old air cooled engine. The crank was scored and the bearings tell the story...

So I'm curious. Did he find what caused the oil starvation? Not severe enough to spin the bearings.

We did not find the root cause for the oil starvation but we didn't spend a lot of time looking since the project was focused on another aspect of the engine.
