Blend door and central actuators not moving, they work when bench tested.
Hi All hope someone can help
Bought a cheap boxster with the intension of doing NC500 last year. Fixed all the electrical stuff door locks not working, roof also and boot spoiler. Then went onto water pump, thermostat and belt change and finally refreshed the suspension and last job doing right drivers front wheel bearing replacement.
Fired her up got MoT done and noticed it was getting very hot in cabin. Cleaned sensor in left vent grill, as resistance looked incorrect and now reading ok and realise blend door and central actuators not moving(could be ALL climate control actuators), they do work when bench tested. All other functions seems ok, fan and temperature control and all fuses are ok.
Now it gets strange as car is 2001 2.7 chassis WP0ZZZ98Z1U600515 engine 65102756, but when you pull out climatronic unit there are only 2 plugs in the back not 4. The plugs present are B Red and D Black large. Looked for other looms but nothing behind central console after taking apart. Traced wiring to/from actuators to climatronic and looks ok and continuity checks out.
Looked through all electrical drawings for 2000, 99, 98 and 97 and only 97 had the 2 plugs only in back of climatronic M573.
The climatronic in 986 is 996 653 101 07 manufactured 00 software v2.1. I did buy a 97 unit off ebay for 986 number 996 653 101 00 but just blew dash fuse and nothing else worked. Sent back put other back and replaced fuse. I do NOT know if this unit has been changed before.
Have since found other drawings marked 97-02 with Boxster Model 2001 Sheet 4A Klimatronik and it does have 2 plugs B and D only with 2 connector blocks Plug 10 pin Plug 12 Pin, somewhere in loom.
Any sensible suggestions or history of build variants would be appreciated, if you have knowledge of this issue or the electrical drawing or climatronic versions. I have tried everything obvious and then some and don’t want to go off on a tangent without logical reasons behind.
