2016 vs 2019 Boxster
Hi, everyone, after many years I am finally ready to buy the car of my dreams. I went to a dealer today and test drove the 2019 model. I also drove a used 2016. Any opinions out there, whether you prefer the old model? What would be the advantages of the new, other than obvious warranty etc. Really excited to finally be here!

The biggest difference is the engine. 2016 is a 6 cylinder normally aspirated boxer engine. The 2019 is a turbo charged 4 cylinder boxer. Performance is higher on the '19 but the 16 sounds way better. And also the 16 will cost 25% less due to depreciation. A low milage 16 will be a heck of a lot easier on your wallet. I don't know about you but I can't afford a 2019 ANYTHINGMOBILE let alone a brand new Boxster.

The dealer should be able to certify the 2016 which will extend the Porsche warranty 2 years or 100k miles.

Not only is the 16 less expensive to buy it’s going to hold its value better.

Ok I'm not sure this helps but really your asking this forum about the old boxster, a 2016 boxster
That's 14 years newer than my 02

My suggestion to you would be to research intake valve fouling due to carbon buildup issues from DFI. In my opinion this makes the 2014 base a better choice.
